We’ve been so busy building the CORE/WORKNOW concept that we’ve barely had time to let everyone know about the significant progress we’ve made and continue to make daily.

Here you’ll find a few key highlights we’re very proud of and will update this page often.

CORE partners and stakeholders are actively engaged in planning and implementation activity to build a platform of associated employment and training programs integrated with support services delivery such as child care, industry career planning or training upgrades.

Formal recruitment and outreach activities launched in January 2018 with weekly information sessions in English and Spanish at established access points at multiple locations; community outreach events with peer-to-peer engagement kicked off with a pancake breakfast in February 2018. Over 200 partners, families, and current participants networked and learned about upcoming hiring opportunities and partner services.

Five training partners offered introductory skills classes like skills building boot camps or concrete fundamentals, and certificate classes like flagging, OSHA 10, and heavy equipment operation. Stay tuned—partners will be expanding training opportunities this spring including CDL B, stormwater management, document control, and pre-apprenticeship orientations.

WORKNOW and our CORE partner organizations connected local workers with full-time opportunities in civil, commercial and residential projects. Stay connected—Central 70 job opportunities will come on line early summer.
