WORKNOW is a coalition of organizations that collaborate to retain and advance workers in the construction industry. WORKNOW launched in early 2018. Our coalition came together to help people find and keep good construction jobs that build high-wage careers and help employers hire local talent. In 2023, the collaborative evolved services to better emphasize career advancement through upskilling and retention support.
Our Priorities – To meet its objectives, WORKNOW utilizes the following strategies:
- Prepare trainees and current workers for construction industry growth opportunities—including craft, office, professional service, and small business ownership
- Integrate and scale supportive services, particularly access to family needs and work supports like tools and boots to support working families.
- Resolve barriers that prevent people of color and women from finding and keeping good construction jobs.
- Share best practices to support high-wage, high-growth industry career paths and inclusive economies.
